Dr. Robinder (Rob) P. Bedi
Dr. Robinder (Rob) P. Bedi is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Educational and Counselling Psychology, and Special Education at the University of British Columbia. He joined UBC on August 1, 2015 as a tenure track Assistant Professor in Counselling Psychology. He previously held positions as an Associate Professor of Psychology at Western Washington and as an Assistant Professor of Counselling Psychology at the University of Victoria. Dr. Bedi is a registered psychologist in British Columbia and works one day per week providing psychological services through Chuck Jung Associates, a group independent psychology practice specializing in the area of rehabilitation counselling. His list of awards and honours include: Fellow of the Canadian Psychological Association, Distinguished Member of the Counselling Psychology Section of the Canadian Psychological Association, Killam Laureate, Green College Leading Edge Scholar, Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association Article Award, Michael Smith Foundation for Health Research Career Investigator Scholar Award, and the Barbara A. Kirk Award. He has receives grants from various organizations such as Shastri Indo-Canadian Institute, Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada, Status of Women Canada, Mitacs, India Council of Cultural Relations, American Psychological Association and its Divisions 29 and 45, the Center for Cross-Cultural Research, the Michael Smith Foundation for Health Research, the Fahs-Beck Fund for Research and Experimentation, and Heterodox Academy.
